It's finally September, and the official start of fall is coming soon! Today, we have an important message for our YNH members. You may have realized that our August Newsletter has not arrived in your inbox, and that is because we are stopping our monthly newsletters. In our previous website, The Weekly News, we had only articles, and it was key that we published a newsletter every month to update our members on all of the big articles we had published throughout the month. However, in Your News Hub, we only publish daily updates (among other things, like sports articles and travel articles), and we think that there is no point anymore in publishing a newsletter that addresses the articles that everyone already reads every day. If you do not agree with this change, please tell us in the comments section of this daily update or send us an email at admin@yournewshub.org.
Now, let's dive into today's news.

"La Tomatina" festival has just taken place in Buñol, Spain, where thousands of people flock to the streets to take part in Spain's annual tomato food fight festival. Now, many people think that the festival is a waste of food. However, that's not entirely true. Rules on food are very specific, and the only tomatoes that are chosen for the festival are tomatoes that have gone bad or are underripe. They are deemed "unfit for consumption" after inspection and are normally left to rot in the fields. The festival buys low-quality tomatoes from farmers across Spain, giving them profit and a globally-known festival for Spain. This actually helps reduce waste because it recovers resources by turning into a festival where the tomatoes are used to have fun- and it also helps your skin! Tomatoes are actually a natural disinfectant, so the festival cleanses your skin of impurities.
On another note, 73 people are dead after a deadly fire in Johannesburg, South Africa, and authorities are now launching an investigation into the cause of it. The fire mainly affected a five-story apartment building in downtown and burned at night, when many people were asleep. The entire building was alight when firefighters arrived at the scene, but it was quickly extinguished. Burned-out sections of the building and broken glass windows can also be seen as cleanup begins and the search for dead bodies continues.
Lastly, the powerful Super Typhoon Saola is now battering Hong Kong with winds over 120 mph, and it is also bringing extremely heavy rain. The entire city has been shut down ahead of the storm, which could be Hong Kong's worst in five years. They are closing down their massive stock market as well, as the storm is expected to bring large storm surge along with the rain. Thankfully, it will just brush China, and it will not make landfall. Instead, it will shift southwest and dissipate near the island of Hainan.
