Norma has made landfall on mainland Mexico as a tropical storm with strong winds and heavy rain after smashing into the tip of the Baja California peninsula on Saturday. The storm hit Cabo San Lucas with winds of over 80 mph and heavy rain, which caused bridge collapses, flash flooding, and other infrastructure damage. Meanwhile, Hurricane Tammy made landfall in Barbuda on Saturday night with strong winds over 85 mph and heavy rain as well, and it is still pounding the Leeward Islands. Thankfully, both storms are no longer a threat. Norma is now fizzling out over western Mexico, and Tammy has only open ocean ahead as it weakens over the Atlantic.
