The US state of New Jersey is banning the sale of new gas vehicles by 2035, making it the 11th state to impose some kind of ban on gasoline-powered cars. Along with California, Oregon, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Virginia, Washington, Maryland, and Connecticut, the state is going to phase out the sale of new, gasoline-powered cars in an effort to try and save the environment from the harmful pollutants released by them. New Jersey will starting cutting down the amount of gas cars by 2027 and bring it down to zero by 2035, but the law does not ban anyone from owning a gasoline-powered vehicle or force them to buy an electric car.
