Today's only big news is that the US government has passed a bill that avoids the once-looming threat of a government shutdown, which would have been terrible for the country's economy. The House and Senate passed a stopgap bill just hours before the required deadline that will extend government funding until November 17 to give them more time to pass the required 12 bills that would give the government funds to run itself. The deadline is October 1, because that is the beginning of the new fiscal year. Thankfully, the bill has been passed, and the shutdown is not looming in the near future anymore.
