Amazon has officially launched their new 'Amazon Clinic' in all 50 states of the US, which offers telehealth treatment for common conditions, such as cold, flu, urinary tract infection, sinusitis, and pink eye. The service was launched last November but wasn't nationwide until now. It also allows you to have message-based consultations and video chats with your doctor, plus the feature where you can see the cost of your visit beforehand. The launch is part of Amazon's effort to expand in the health sector, after the launch of their 'Amazon Pharmacy' in 2020.
On another note, weather has been plaguing Eastern Asia for the past few days, with Typhoon Doksuri battering China and now Typhoon Khanun smashing into Japan's Okinawa prefecture. At least 20 people are dead after 29 inches of rain fell on China's capital, Beijing, in five days, marking China's worst rainfall event in over 140 years. The floods have washed away cars and buildings, while the Chinese province of Fujian recovers from the strong winds and rainfall that Doksuri unleashed on them about a week ago. Meanwhile, at least 30 people are injured after Typhoon Khanun smashing into Okinawa, bringing sustained winds of over 140 mph, storm surge, and severe flooding. It is now weakening and dumping more rain on Taiwan and eastern China, and will eventually fizzle out in the East China Sea.
