Many people are still trapped under the rubble in Turkey and Syria, after a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the area due to the shifting of tectonic plates (Eurasian Plate, African Plate, Arabian Plate). More than 100 aftershocks have struck afterwards as well, and the subzero freezing temperatures lately have not been helping. The death toll has now risen to over 11,000 people, and hundreds, maybe even thousands more are still stuck. And now, since snow and low temps seem to be entering the area, survival chances are grim for the trapped people, who have gone days without food or water, and are now at risk of hypothermia.
Now, on a happier note, NBA star LeBron James has made history! In the third quarter of the Lakers game last night, LeBron scored his 38,388th point in his career, breaking the record set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 39 years ago. This accomplishment has also come along with four league MVP awards and four NBA championships. Congratulations to LeBron James!
