The New York Ivy League school has been facing pro-Palestinian protests for many days now, and things are escalating quickly. Protesters have occupied the school's Hamilton Hall and symbolically renamed it Hind's Hall, after a 6-year-old Palestinian child who was killed by the Israeli military. The 8-story building has been occupied by student protesters at one point or another since 1968. The entrance to the building has been barricaded by tables and the protesters' linked arms, and they chanted pro-Palestinian slogans. Columbia University has called the New York Police Department to handle the situation, a situation reminiscent of the protests this previous Monday when 100 people were arrested on campus.
