The Republican Party is a major party in the USA. Their headquarters are in Washington, D.C., and they are generally seen as right-wing (which focuses on businesses and a small government). The Republican National Convention was from July 15 to 18.

Donald Trump won way more than the required 1,215 delegates, so he became the Republican presidential nominee. He chose Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate.
